Obituary

Alvin S. Wielgus, 87, Pulaski, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 23, 2025. Al, the son of Antone and Julia (Skarczynski) Wielgus was born on April 30, 1938. He attended St. Mary's Catholic Grade School and graduated from Pulaski High School in 1956. Following high school, Al proudly served in the U.S. AirForce until his honorable discharge in September of 1962.

Al worked for P&G in Green Bay for over 33 years until his retirement. Upon his retirement, Al's passions were collecting model classic cars and model airplanes.  He also enjoyed gardening, playing cards, golfing and spending time with his nieces and nephews. Al was a longtime member of Assumption B.V.M. Parish.

Survivors include his sister, Dolores Sapletal, Iron River, MI; his sisters-in-law: Linda Wielgus, Green Bay and Gail Wielgus, Green Bay.  Al is further survived by his nieces and nephews: Todd Wielgus, Green Bay; Tim (Lavada) Wielgus, Oconto Falls; Troy (Tammy) Wielgus, Okotoks, Canada, Tanya (Kevin) Meyer, De Pere, Laura (Rick) Price, Charles City, VA, Jill (Kevin) Nocerini, Iron River, MI, Mary (Rob) Guiher, Woodland Park, CO, Gregg (Rose) Sapletal, Plainwell, MI, Renee (Michael) O'Connell, Pace, FL, Dina Miller, Green Bay, and Tami Wielgus, New Orleans, LA and several great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Antone and Julia Wielgus; his brothers, Richard, Norbert and Jim Wielgus, his brother-in-law, James Sapletal; his niece, Susan (Sapletal) Donati and his niece-in-law, Connie Wielgus.

Friends may call Marnocha Funeral Home, 186 E. Pulaski St., Pulaski, on Wednesday, October 29, from 4-6 p.m. A Prayer Service will take place at 6 p.m. A veterans presentation by Pulaski Area Veterans will follow at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Assumption B.V.M. Cemetery at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.

The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff at Bellin Hospital and Unity Hospice for the excellent and compassionate care they provided Al.
