Anthony Van
Asten
Feb 6, 1953 — Aug 7, 2026
Anthony (Tony) Van Asten, 73, of Suamico, passed away at home on August 7, 2026. We are heartbroken to have lost our husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. Tony was born in Rudolph, WI, and raised in Krakow.
Tony married his wife Faye on Valentine's Day in 1981. They had three children, who in turn blessed them with 7 grandchildren. He was over-the-moon in love with all of them. Tony worked as a Field Manager for Green Bay Foods (which later became Dean Foods) for 20+ years, which earned him the nickname of "the pickle man". His stories were many and we are still not sure which of them to believe. He later worked in sales for A.I. McDermott and First Supply.
Tony had a love for music and loved playing guitar and singing. He frequently made-up silly songs, which could only be loved and appreciated by his family. His other love was hunting. He was excited to teach his children to hunt and later shared hunting experiences with his grandchildren. If they were too young to hunt, there were hunting videos to watch or hunting magazines to look at together.
He loved his hunting land in the U.P. and participated in several elk hunts in Colorado and Montana with both family and friends. This meant he had more stories to tell, but of course the cardinal rule applied: what happens at camp – stays at camp.
Survivors include his loving wife, Faye; children: Nicholas (Katie), and their children: Morgan, Sawyer; Forrest (Carolyn), and their children: Tilly, George, Stephanie; and Elizabeth 'Little Bit'(Kyle)Redjinski, and their children: Ryann and Brooks. He is further survived by his brothers: Brian (Diane), Greg (Julie), his sister, Tina (Al) Wagner; sisters-in-law, Jane Greenwood, Jann (Pat) Hinnendael, and Lynn (Dale) McKeefry; and many nieces & nephews & great nieces and nephews.
The family would like to acknowledge Roger Pomprowitz for not only being Tony's best friend, but a friend to the entire family.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Janet & Greg Van Asten; his brothers: Timm and Patrick; his nephew, Kyle and his father-in-law and mother-in-law: Shirley and Rapheal Palubicki.
The family would like to thank Dr. Maria DeVilla (who always brought a smile to Tony's face) and the entire staff at Bellin Oncology for their kindness and support. They would also like to thank Unity Hospice for the compassionate care Tony received and the comfort they brought to the family.
As we say farewell to our husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, brother, cousin, uncle and friend, let us find comfort in the memories we share. To all who knew him and loved him, thank you for the part you played in his life. Please remember him with gladness. And joy.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
