Obituary

Arlene L. Rohloff, 88, Pulaski, an energetic spirit who lived life to the fullest, passed away peacefully Tuesday, October 1, 2024, at Emerald Bay Assisted Living in Hobart. The daughter of John "Jack" and Agnes (Ertman) Blohowiak was born June 19, 1936, in Green Bay.

As a child, Arlene moved frequently due to her father's work as a cheesemaker. She particularly cherished her memories of sledding in Daggett, MI. Arlene also cherished her time with her cousins in Algoma, as she was an only child. She was a graduate of Seymour High School.

On April 22, 1958, she married Mervin "Merv" Rohloff, a smooth dancer, at Pamperin Park in Green Bay. The couple purchased a farm in Angelica in 1961 and farmed there with their four children. Arlene was a longtime member of Assumption B.V.M. Parish and was a member of the Council of Catholic Women. She was also a "grandma" at Encompass Daycare in Pulaski.

Arlene enjoyed dancing to country and polka music. She frequently drove to see some of her favorite bands. Arlene also enjoyed painting, traveling, going on bus trips, and was always ready to polka. She took up running in her 50's and ran into her 80's, winning many awards throughout her age groups. She especially enjoyed running with her daughter, Jann. Arlene never missed a grandchild's sporting event no matter how far away it was. She dedicated many years to the racetracks, supporting her husband, son, and grandson in their passion for racing. An independent spirit, she always found ways to stay active and engaged.

Survivors include her four children: Bonnie (Randy) Bramschreiber, Bonduel, Karen (Dick) Rusch, Shawano, Brad (Diane) Rohloff, Pulaski, and Jann (Wade) Berglund, Winneconne; five grandchildren: Britney (Tyler) Dobratz, Shawano; Brigham (Katie) Bramschreiber, Green Bay, Kiley Rusch, Shawano, Dylan Rohloff, Pulaski, and Broc Berglund, Winneconne; four great-grandchildren: Kip and Oaklyn Dobratz, and Blake and Bryce Bramschreiber; a sister-in-law, Janet Rohloff; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Arlene is now reunited with her cherished husband and dance partner, and she is also preceded in death by her parents, John and Agnes, as well as a stillborn son. Along with her brothers-in-law: Melvin Rohloff and Richard (Lorraine) Lepak.

Friends are invited to gather with family at Assumption B.V.M. Church, 119 E. Pulaski St., on Friday, October 4, from 9-11 a.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. with Fr. James Vacco, O.F.M. presiding. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Emerald Bay and the St. Croix Hospice Team, especially Eric, for the care and compassion given to Arlene.
