Binnie "Sue"
Lawson
Mar 4, 1941 — Oct 2, 2026
Binnie “Sue” Everhart Lawson, 85, passed away on Friday, October 2, 2026. She was born on March 4, 1941.
Our beloved Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother was born to the late Dora Ophelia and Bennie Everhart. She was very close to her sisters, Mary and Louise. Sue had a baby brother Bennie, Jr. who died as an infant.
After marrying her husband, Clayton Cherney, with whom they shared 19 years together, had four children, Tina, Zina, Ron, and Gina. Sue then married Dave Lawson, who passed away in 2023.
Sue was a loving grandmother, who cherished the time she spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She would remember each of them in her daily prayers.
Anyone who knew her, loved her. Her family meant more to her than anything. Sue liked being around people and telling stories of the old southern way of life and all the family in Myrtle Beach.
She will always be remembered as a strong and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. We will never forget her love and kindness for her entire family. To say she had a kind heart is an understatement. We will miss her smile.
She is survived by her children, Zina (Don) Maki, Ron (Denise) Cherney, and Gina (John) Kolkowski; her grandchildren and great grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Tina Cherney-Herlache; sisters, Mary Everhart and Louise Thurman; and her infant brother, Bennie, Jr.
In accordance with Sue’s wishes, private services were held. Marnocha Funeral Home of Pulaski is assisting the family.
If my grandchildren and great grandchildren ever ask about me when I’m no longer here… Don’t just tell them I’m gone, tell them this…
Tell them how much I loved them all
Tell them their names were in my prayers
Tell them they were behind some of my happiest memories
And most of all, tell them they were never just a part of my life, they were the reasons I loved my life so much.
