Obituary

Christine L. Pecho, 68, of Oconto, passed away on Thursday, April 17, 2025, after a courageous fight with cancer.  Christine was the only child of Frank and Theresa (Rybka) Pecho, born on March 14, 1957.  She grew up on the family farm in Abrams and, in her later years, she was in the loving care of the REM facility in Oconto.

She had a passion for beads, jewelry, coloring in her books, and loved going out to eat and receiving clothes as gifts.  If there was a corner piece of a birthday cake (with lots of frosting), it was hers.  Christine worked at New View in Gillett for more than 45 years until retiring in 2024 due to cancer.

Christine was preceded in death by her parents and many aunts and uncles.  She is survived by her aunt, Millie Montevido, many cousins, and the workers at REM who were like family.

Many thanks go to cousins: Norm (Carol) Rybka, Ray Rybka, and Alice (Tom) Seifert for always including Christine in family gatherings and holidays, and for stopping in for visits and taking her out to eat.  As they were leaving, Christine would be asking when they would be coming back to take her out again or who will host the next get-together.

Also, a special thank you to the staff at New View in Gillett for always caring for Christine as family during her long working career. Thank you to the following who took such wonderful/loving care and providing the needs for Christine after the passing of her parents : the workers and staff at REM, especially Colleen, Dixie, Erica, Nicki, Lynn, Donna and Laurie – Lakeland care staff, Unity Hospice, Jenny and the other Unity Hospice staff. Thank you to the many doctors and medical staff who cared for and assisted Christine during her time of need.

Family and friends are invited to gather at Marnocha Funeral Home, 186 E. Pulaski St., Pulaski, on Tuesday, April 22, from 4-6 p.m. The Celebration of Life Service will take place at 6 p.m. Interment will take place in the Town of Morgan Cemetery on Wednesday at 10 a.m.

Christine will forever be remembered in our hearts as a person who loved the simple things in life.

May God hold her and care for her forever.
