Obituary

Craig L. Gumm, 44, of Abrams, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, September 4, 2025. The son of Virgil and Mary (Flannery) Gumm was born November 5, 1980, in Rhinelander, WI.

Craig grew up in the Crandon area and was a 1999 graduate of Crandon High School. Following high school, he attended Nicolet Technical College earning an associate degree in marine and outdoor power products. He also attended Northeastern Wisconsin Technical College for automotive. Craig was proud to have worked for Hayes Metals in Crandon and most recently Powersports 1 in Little Chute.

On August 28, 2010, he married Amber Chamberlain and they welcomed their pride and joy, Levi in 2013.

An avid offroad racing enthusiast, Craig could always be found at the track. He was currently in the process of building a super stock truck. Levi was his whole world and Craig enjoyed sharing and teaching Levi all his mechanical knowledge.  As a family, they traveled to watch Levi race and Craig loved being Levi's spotter and mechanic. They also loved to go fishing together at the Stiles Flowage.

Survivors include his wife, Amber; son, Levi; mother, Mary (Paul) Linderud; his sister, Lindsay Meyer (Bobby); in-laws, Bob (Tina) Chamberlain, and Linda Chamberlain (Wayne); brothers-in-law: Erik (Kara) Chamberlain and Jeremy (JennaLee) Chamberlain; sisters-in-law: Kara (Nick) Walters, Robyn Dodge, Shanna (Wes) Wara, Layna (Michael) Zahrt, Jacquie (Mike) Sprang, and Jami Zahrt; grandmother-in-law, Jean Juntikka; father, Virgil Gumm; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and other family members.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Virgil and Regina Gumm; maternal grandparents, Milford and Gladys Flannery; and grandfather-in-law, William Juntikka.

Friends are invited to gather with family at Peace Lutheran Church, 1954 County Rd. U, Green Bay, on Friday, September 12, from 9-11 a.m. The Funeral Service will take place at 11 a.m. with Pastor Stuart Dornfeld officiating. To honor Craig, please join the family in wearing your favorite racing clothing to the funeral.  Interment will take place in Crandon Lakeside Cemetery.
