Darrell “Butch”
Lacount
Apr 7, 1938 — Apr 24, 2024
Darrell "Butch" LaCount, 86, Sobieski, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Wednesday, April 24, 2024, at Country Villa Assisted Living in Pulaski. The son of Wilfred and Edith (Gegare) LaCount was born April 7, 1938, in Green Bay.
Darrell lived in Sobieski his entire life and farmed on the family farm with his dad and brothers until his retirement in 2004. He was a lifelong member of St. Maximilian Kolbe Parish in Sobieski.
Following retirement, he took great pride in doing yardwork around his home. He was an avid Green Bay Packers fan and a season ticket holder for many years. Butch enjoyed following Pulaski High School sports and listening to Polka music. Christmas was always a very special holiday for him. He looked forward to getting together with his coffee clutch group on Saturday mornings.
Survivors include his six siblings: Laurell DeLain, Carol Wesolowski, Bev Reince, David (Kay) LaCount, Gary (Jane) LaCount, and Wayne (Debra) LaCount; his very dear friends, Jim and Rose Smits; and many nieces, nephews and other family members.
In addition to his parents, Wilfred and Edith, he was preceded in death by three brothers-in-law: Ronald DeLain, Florian Wesolowski, and Mark Reince; and a great nephew, Justin Magle.
Friends are invited to gather with family at St. Maximilian Kolbe Church, 6051 Noble St., Sobieski, on Saturday, May 4, from 9-11 a.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. with Fr. Francis Nusi presiding. Interment will follow in St. John Cantius Cemetery.
The family would like to thank all the neighbors and friends who also stopped and visited. They would also like to thank the staff at Country Villa Assisted Living and the Bristol Hospice team for the wonderful care given to Butch.
