David William Heimerl, 73, Sobieski, passed away Tuesday, May 28, 2024, at his home with his loving wife at his side. The son of George "Bill" and Marianne (Simonson) Heimerl was born April 13, 1951, in Medford.
Dave grew up in Medford. When he was young his family moved to Columbus, where he was a 1969 graduate of Columbus High School. Following graduation, he worked as an estimator for Outlook Graphics and Independent Printing. He then worked as an Independent Travel Director from 2006 until his health no longer allowed.
On December 31, 2000, he married Alice "Allie" Kraeger-Sartini in Kohler. Dave enjoyed traveling the world, entertaining, playing golf, adventures in the MGB Car, and EAA. He loved grilling a good steak and old fashions. He was especially proud of his library card from the " Library of Congress" in Washington D.C.
Survivors include his loving wife, Allie; children: Faith (Dave) Molnar, Kyle Heimerl (fiancé, Sarah Hendzel), and Jenna (Bradley) Stueck; stepchildren: Adam (Dan) Kraeger, Andrew (Chad Suwyn) Kraeger, and Austin (Lisa) Kraeger; his grandchildren: Kylie Molnar, Neveah Heimerl, Iverson Heimerl, Gavin Heimerl, Ezrah Heimerl, Jasper Ingalls, Jyles Kraeger, Auwynn Kraeger, Demi Diedrich, and Josephine Stueck. and. He is further survived by his siblings: Kenneth (Anne) Heimerl, Nancy (Brian) O'Rourke, Mary (Jim) Hughes, and Mark (Karen) Heimerl; his mother-in-law, Margaret Dieck; brother-in-law, Tim Dieck; and sister-in-law, Marsha (Mark) Werner.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Marianne, and his father-in-law, Norman Dieck.
Friends are invited to gather with family at Peace Lutheran Church, 1954 County Rd. U, Green Bay, on Saturday, June 1, from 10-11 a.m. The Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Stuart Dornfeld officiating.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to Peace Lutheran Church in Dave's name.
The family would like to thank the St. Croix Hospice staff for the exceptional care given to Dave. They would also like to thank Pastor Stuart for his spiritual guidance.
