Obituary

James "Jim/JR" Anthony Reimer, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully due to complications of Leukemia on Monday, September 16, 2024, at Aurora BayCare Hospital in Green Bay, Wisconsin.

Born on June 30, 1945, in Green Bay, Jim was a lifelong resident of the area. His professional life was marked by his employment at Proctor and Gamble for 32 years as an electrician. A dedicated public servant, Jim served in the U.S. Navy for two years on active duty and an additional 20 years in the U.S. Naval Reserves. During his retirement he was a proud member of the Pulaski American Legion Post 337, where he enjoyed serving the community and his fellow veterans.

Jim had a passion for learning and was always eager to share his knowledge with others. He was a committed fan always cheering on the Green Bay Packers and supporting his grandchildren at their activities. He loved the outdoors, especially hunting, fishing, and golfing. His love for his family was unwavering, and he was always there to lend a listening ear or offer a helping hand. He had a strong faith in God and lived it daily. Jim never met anyone he didn't like.

Jim is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, JoAnne Reimer; their sons: Scott Reimer (Stephanie Engelbrerth) and Anthony (Christa) Reimer; son-in-law Brian Tristani; his five grandchildren: Reed and Veda Reimer, Abigail (Nate) Bodart, Anna and Ella Tristani (fiance Nick Klavekoske) his sister, Janice (Jim) Peters; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Bill Strojny,  Mary (Jim) DeFrance, David (Margaret) Schuh, Martin (Joann) Schuh, Linda (Jim) Krouse, Roger Schuh, Bonnie (Earl) Spencer, and Joyce (Ollie) Kabara.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Anthony and Mae Reimer; in-laws, Clem and Lucille Schuh; daughter, Gina Tristani; brother-in-law, Frank Schuh; sister-in-law, Lucille Strojny; sister-in-law, Elise Schuh; and godchild, Greg Tilly.

The family would like to express a heartfelt thank you to the Marinette County police, Athelstane Fire Department, and Silver Cliff Rescue Squad Inc., Aurora Bay Area Emergency Room staff, and Aurora BayCare ICU staff and surgeons.

Friends are invited to gather with family at Ss. Edward & Isidore Church, 3667 Flintville Rd., Suamico, on Saturday, September 21, from 9 a.m. until 12 noon. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 12 noon with Fr. Scott Valentyn presiding. Military honors rendered by the Pulaski Area Veterans will immediately follow. Burial will take place at a later time in St. John the Baptist Cemetery, Howard.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Pulaski American Legion Post 337, 135 N. St. Augustine St. Pulaski.

Jim will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His memory will live on in the hearts of his loved ones.
