Obituary

James B. Saindon, 83, Town of Chase, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 18, 2025, at Aurora BayCare Medical Center in Green Bay. The son of Bob and Lucille (Karcz) Buckman was born on October 7, 1941, in Green Bay.

Jim married Gladys Ferfecki on November 23, 1965. He drove truck for Carver Boat and various other places for several years. In 1974, Jim became the Undersheriff (Badge #702) of Oconto County along with being named duly appointed deputy coroner. He was also appointed to the Bureau of Indian Affairs in 1976. Jim then became a traffic officer for Oconto County in 1982 (Badge #716) until his retirement.

An avid trap shooter, Jim was a member of the Oconto and Pittsfield Sportsman Clubs. He served as President of the Oconto Sportsman Club for a number of years. In addition to shooting trap, Jim enjoyed riding his Harley and made several trips to Sturgis, riding his UTV, cutting grass (at least twice a week), and going out west on hunting trips. He was also a member of the Search and Rescue Dive Team for Oconto County.

Survivors include his two children: Kelly (Ron) Mroczkowski, Krakow, and Tim Saindon, Chase; four grandchildren: Jolene (Michael) Pomprowitz, Krakow, Josh Mroczkowski, Krakow, Lyle Saindon (Rylee), White Lake, and Makayla Saindon, Green Bay; a great-grandson, Jaxton Pomprowitz, Krakow; his godson, Brad Schmidt, Shawano; two half-brothers: Daryl (Angela) Saindon and Larry (Mary) Saindon; sisters-in-law: Barbara Ferfecki, Pulaski, Judy Ferfecki, Krakow, Audrey Ferfecki, Morgan, Vanice Ferfecki, Pulaski, and Sharon (Dale) Krumrai, Pulaski; his faithful companion,  Ziva; and many nieces, nephews, and other family members.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Gladys; his parents, Bob and Lucille; father, Owen Saindon; a daughter-in-law, Robyn Saindon; father-in-law and mother-in-law: John and Lucille Ferfecki; brothers-in-law: Daniel "Danny" Ferfecki, Richard "Richie" Ferfecki, James "Skippy" Ferfecki, and Paul Ferfecki.

Friends are invited to gather with family at St. Casimir Church, 146 Park St., Krakow, on Saturday, January 25, from 9:00 a.m. until 12 noon. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 12 noon with Fr. James Esser, O.F.M. presiding.

The family would like to thank the staff at Aurora Medical Center and Aurora Hospice for the good care given to Jim.
