Obituary

Janice C. Winter, 85, Pulaski, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on January 3, 2025, at Country Villa Assisted Living in Pulaski. The daughter of Alfred and Isabelle (Hoida) Schumacher was born October 2, 1939, in Green Bay.

On March 16, 1957, Jan married James Winter. While her children were growing up, she devoted her time as a wonderful homemaker. She then entered the workforce and had worked for Marnocha Funeral Home and later at Festival Foods.

Jan was an excellent cook and loved to bake. She also enjoyed making Christmas cookies, playing golf, bowling, playing cards, and swimming in the pool in the backyard. She loved spending time up north at the family cabin at Chute Pond. Dressing up for Halloween was always a favorite of hers. Jan was a member of the Red Hat Club, and the High Noon Riders Snowmobile Club.

Survivors include her husband of over 67 years, James; eight children: LeeAnn (Dennis) Przybylski, Linda (Douglas) Prentice, Laurie (Dan) Zierden, Jim Jr. (Michelle) Winter, Timothy Winter (Mel); Terrance Winter (Connie), Kevin Winter (fiancé, Tracy), and Daniel (June) Winter; 17 grandchildren: Brent Nowak, Eric (Felicia) Przybylski, Amanda (Corey) Przybylski, Alicia (Torry) Ericson, Douglas (Theresa) Prentice, Lucas (Jessica) Prentice, Nicole (Grant) Bystol, Jason (Caleena) Prokash, Nathan (Abigail) Winter, Melissa Winter, Erica (Bradley) Naparalla, Kandra Winter, Jeremy Winter, Gerald Winter, Mariah (Evan) Peterson, Heaven Winter (Hunter),  Brittney Winter (Wesley), and Dalton Winter. She is further survived by 21 great-grandchildren; three brothers-in-law: Dennis (Sharon) Winter, Don (Peggy) Winter, and Mark (Annette) Winter; and many nieces, nephews, and other family members.

In addition to her parents, Alfred and Isabelle, she was preceded in death by a sister, Donna (Dale) VanRossum; and a brother-in-law, Ken (Bonnie) Winter.

Friends are invited to gather with family at Peace Lutheran Church, 1954 County Rd. U, Green Bay (Kunesh), on Friday, January 17, from 9:00 a.m. until 12 noon. The Funeral Service will be celebrated at 12 noon with Pastor Stuart Dornfeld officiating. Burial will take place at a later time in Ft. Howard Cemetery, Green Bay.

The family respectfully asks that no flowers be sent.
