Obituary

Jean M. Becher, 74, Pulaski, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Tuesday, September 26, 2023, at Aurora BayCare Medical Center, Green Bay. The daughter of Ervin and Harriet (Sconzert) Schilke was born on May 7, 1949, in Green Bay.

Jean grew up in the Seymour area and graduated from Seymour High School with the class of 1968. On June 22, 1968, she married Franklin "Pappy" Becher. Jean worked on various farms most of her working career; she also dabbled as a butcher. After farming she worked as a gas station attendant in Bonduel.

An avid bowler, Jean loved bowling in couples league in Seymour and the women's league in Pulaski. She enjoyed going to "girls night out" at Ashwaubenon Bowling Alley and she enjoyed fishing.

Survivors include her husband of over 55 years, Frank Becher; five children: Richard (Billie) Becher, Debra (Dave) Loken, Matt (Marjorie) Becher, Jason Becher (Shannon), and Nate (Hannah) Becher; five grandchildren: Danielle O'Hearn, Kiedra (Nick) VanGruensven, Korz Loken, Blake Becher, and Jack Becher; two great-grandchildren: Briar and Brex VanGruensven; three siblings: Gale (Karen) Schilke, Lynn (Dave) Luebke, and Karla Linsmeyer; brother-in-law and sisters-in-law: Darlene Schilke, Maryann Valenta, Ray (Lil) Becher, Alice (Lyle) Burmeister, Marcie Stover, and Larry Becher; and several nieces, nephews, and other family.

In addition to her parents, Ervin and Harriet, she was preceded in death by three brothers: Roger Schilke, Ervin Schilke, and Michael Schilke; and two brothers-in-law and one sister-in-law: John Valenta and Joe and (Cheryl) Becher.

Friends are invited to gather with family at Marnocha Funeral Home, 186 E. Pulaski St., Pulaski, on Tuesday, October 3, from 3-5 p.m. A funeral service will take place at 5 p.m.

The family would like to add a special thank you to Jean's sister Karla.  Karla was Jean's advocate.  She was with Jean for most appointments to help ask questions and share what Jean needed. We want to thank Country Villa Assisted Living and PRN Home Health and Therapy for the care given to Jean in the past couple of years.  We want to thank Lakeland for overseeing Jean's care.  We want to thank Aurora Bay Care Green Bay, Providers, Nurses, CNA's.
