Jerold R. Surges, 84, Town of Chase, passed away peacefully November 7, 2023, surrounded by family. The son of Matthew and Evelyn (Jablonowski) Surges was born April 29, 1939, in Milwaukee.
Jerry grew up in Milwaukee and graduated from Rufus King High School with the class of 1957. He was drafted into the US Army in 1962, serving in the Airborne Division until his honorable discharge in 1964. He also served in the US Air Force Reserves from 1964-1966.
On July 29, 1967, Jerry married Kathleen Thompson in Milwaukee. The couple moved to the Pulaski area in 1978. Jerry worked as a portrait photographer for over 27 years until his health would no longer allow in 2007.
Jerry was a member of the Tri-County Optimist Club, the Pulaski American Legion Post 337, and was a longtime member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Little Suamico. Jerry's passion was his Lionel train set. He enjoyed camping, snowmobiling, pheasant hunting with his Brittany Spaniel Corky, watching the Packers and bowling. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family.
Survivors include his loving wife, Kathie Surges, Pulaski; two daughters: Kim Post, Sheboygan, and Kelly (Bill) Heier, Suamico; four grandchildren: Noah and Hannah Post, and Wyatt and Dylan Heier; his godson, Joshua Thompson; sisters-in-law: Bev Bailey, Ruth Rose, Carole Briggs, and Caroline (Don) Pietrowski; a brother-in-law, John (Lynda) Thompson; and several nieces, nephews, and other family members.
In addition to his parents, Matthew and Evelyn, he was preceded in death by his sister, Nancy Surges; and brothers-in-law, Chauncey Bailey, Ray Rose, and Robert Briggs.
Friends are invited to gather with family at St. John's Lutheran Church, 1253 Cty Rd J, Little Suamico, on Saturday, November 25, from 9-11 a.m. The Funeral Service will take place at 11 a.m. with Pastor Stacy Malzhan officiating. Military honors rendered by the Pulaski Area Veterans will follow at the church.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Qiu, nurse Michelle, the Unity Hospice Team especially, Danielle Collier, Heidi and Rickie. Your compassion and care meant a lot to us during this difficult time.
