Joseph Osuchowski, 95, of Gillett, WI, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on August 5, 2026. The son of Stanislaw and Wladyslawa (Lichota) Osuchowski was born on February 17, 1931, in Rzuchow, Swietokrzyskie Voivodeship, Poland.
Joe grew up in Poland, where he graduated from a paramilitary high school. After graduation, he attended the Air Force Military Academy, eventually earning the rank of Captain.
In the 1960s, Joe immigrated to Chicago and began working in tool and die manufacturing at Olson Manufacturing. While living in Illinois, he also owned several apartment buildings, a restaurant, and operated as a general contractor.
Joe married Barbara Bosk in 1975. After their marriage, the family moved to the Abrams area. During the week, Joe continued working in Chicago, making the commute between Chicago and Abrams each weekend to be with his family.
Joe had a lifelong passion for building and construction. He enjoyed spending weekends with his friends from Polish-American Hunting Club and was an avid hunter. His hobbies included horticulture and firearms.
Joe is survived by his wife, Barbara; children: Theresa Osuchowski, Peter Osuchowski, and Alexandra Osuchowski; his granddaughter, Monica Osuchowski; a sister-in-law, Halina (Zbigniew) Banach; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family in Poland and the Chicago area.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings: Waclaw, Emilia, Mieczyslaw (Matthew), and Halina; and a brother-in-law, Krzysztof.
Friends are invited to gather with family at Marnocha Funeral Home, 186 E. Pulaski St., Pulaski, on Sunday, August 9, from 12-3 p.m. Visitation will continue at St. Maximilian Kolbe Church, 6051 Noble St., Sobieski, WI on Monday, from 9-11 a.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. with Fr. Francis Nusi officiating. Burial will follow in St. John Cantius Cemetery, Sobieski.
