Larry J. Kolkowski, 85, of Sampson, passed away February 11, 2025, at Alpha Senior Concepts in Suamico. The son of John "Jack" and Lorraine (Blaser) Kolkowski was born January 23, 1940.
Larry grew up in Sampson and graduated from Oconto Falls High School. On June 20, 1959, he married Catherine Wranosky. At a young age he began working as an excavator with his father's business, Sampson Sand & Gravel, a business he operated for many years and passed down to his son and grandson. Larry also owned and operated a sawmill, Sampson Lumber, and he and his father raised beef and pigs.
Larry was passionate about horses and had many horses throughout the years, mainly saddle horses and work horses. He always enjoyed going on horse rides with different people. He also enjoyed going to his friend's ranch in Wyoming, hunting, and spending time at the cabin in Thunder Mountain.
Survivors include his wife of over 65 years, Catherine; four children: John (Gina) Kolkowski, James (Dori) Kolkowski, Joseph (Kristin) Kolkowski, and Marie (Jeff) Robinson; grandchildren: Tammy (Jason) Katers, Kevin Kolkowski, Lisa (Jonathan) Jeske, Mitchell (Amanda) Kolkowski, Sidney (Derek) Gibbons, Danielle Rusch, Robert (Wendy) Kolkowski, Rebecca (Adam) Kuczer, Rachel Kolkowski, Kraig Kolkowski, Katie Robinson, and Jenny Robinson. He is further survived by 15 great-grandchildren; a sister, Shirley Keith, two brothers-in-law: Francis (Debbie) Wranosky and Leonard (Diane) Wranosky; and many nieces, nephews, and other family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Vernon (Angie) Lhotte; and two brothers-in-law: Robert Wranosky and Al Keith.
Friends are invited to gather with family at Marnocha Funeral Home, 186 E. Pulaski St., Pulaski, on Friday, February 21, from 2-5 p.m. The Funeral Service will take place at 5 p.m. Burial will take place at a later time in St. Joseph Cemetery, Town of Chase.
