Obituary

Lorraine A. Kraszewski, 87, Suamico, passed away Sunday, December 10, 2023, at Woodside Manor in Ashwaubenon. The daughter of John and Irene (Kradecki) Banaszak was born October 27, 1936.

Lorraine grew up in the Crivitz area and graduated from Crivitz High School. She wanted to be a model and was accepted to a modeling school in New York but didn't care to be that far away from home, where she worked at the family-owned theater and furniture store.

Lorraine met her husband, Richard Kraszewski, at a resort where they had bands and dances. The couple married a year later on May 21, 1955, at St. Mary's Church in Crivitz. She was a longtime member of St. Benedict Church in Suamico and was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary. Lorraine and Richard traveled to many places including Las Vegas, Mexico, California, Hawaii, Florida, Yellowstone National Park, Canada, and the Black Hills. The couple was married for 54 years until Richard's passing in 2009. Lorraine was a great cook, loved to bake, do ceramics, collect recipes, dance, and listen to music. Lorraine was a wonderful mother and will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

Survivors include her three children: Gary (Sue) Kraszewski, Green Bay, Gail (John) Toonen, Suamico, and John Kraszewski, Suamico; six grandchildren: Sarah (Brendon) Panke, Mike (Becky) Kraszewski, Becky (Griffin) Gotta, Chris Toonen, Jeff Toonen, and Nick Carlson; great-grandchildren: Calum Panke, Jackson Kraszewski, Marcie Toonen, and Roland Toonen; brother, Donald (Florence) Banaszak; sister, Carol (Gary) Wieting; son-in-law, Rich Carlson; sister-in-law, Marge Roels; and many nieces, nephews, and other family members.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Carlson; a great-grandson, Logan Kraszewski; brother, Ray (Gerri) Banaszak; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Irene Schmidt, June Wolf, Regina Pierret, Gerry Kaye, Bernard Kraszewski, Raymond Kraszewski, Donald Kraszewski, and Joyce Ulatowski.

Friends are invited to gather with family at St. Benedict Church, Deerfield Ln., Suamico, from 9:30-11:30 a.m. on Friday, December 15. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. with Fr. Demosthenes Olaso presiding. Interment will take place in the parish cemetery.

Lorraine's family would like to thank the staff at Woodside and the Unity Hospice Team for their care and support.
