Lottie
Jaworski
Oct 1, 1922 — Jan 16, 2026
Lottie Jaworski, 103, former Town of Chase resident, died peacefully Friday morning, January 16, 2026, at Emerald Bay Assisted Living.
The daughter of the late Alex and Katherine (Wolorzyn) Polehonki was born October 1, 1922, in Little Suamico. During the late 1930's she moved to Chicago where she worked at a packing factory and also as a nanny. It was on a trip back home that she met Max Jaworski. The two of them went to many dances, fell in love, and were married on August 31, 1940 at Assumption B.V.M. Church in Pulaski. Their wedding reception was held at the South Chase Saloon.
Lottie and Max raised their family and ran a dairy farm in the Town of Chase for 38 years. Lottie supported Max on the farm, working side by side on chores, milking cows and managing the finances. She also worked at Northern Shoe in Pulaski for several years. A self-taught seamstress, Lottie used her talents to teach youngsters sewing skills in the Chase Challengers 4-H Club.
Later, Lottie took classes to enhance her skills and learned to work on a computerized sewing machine. She was quite an accomplished seamstress. She worked out of her home where she did mending and alterations for many neighbors, relatives, and friends. She also created all kinds of beautiful dresses, costumes, and pillows for all ages. She had a knack for taking on challenging projects resulting in beautiful garments and show pieces.
Lottie was a faith-filled and active member of Assumption B.V.M. Parish, where she belonged to the Council of Catholic Women. She received the CCW's Mother of the Year Award in 1986. She was also a member of the PLAV Auxiliary Unit #178 and the Pulaski Red-Hatters. An avid gardener, Lottie loved her flowers. She especially enjoyed polka music and dancing. She and her friend, Irene Szymanski, earned the nickname "The Recycled Teenagers" as they danced many times to the music of Chad Przybylski and his band. Lottie served as an inspiration to so many people and had friends that spanned generations.
