Obituary

Lucille Stachura, 99, the last of her siblings, passed away Wednesday, July 26, 2023. The daughter of Leo and Sophie (Swiecichowski) Kaczmarowski was born on October 30, 1923. She married Walter Stachura, Sr. on June 8, 1940. Together they shared 65 years of marriage before he passed away on May 4, 2006.

Lucille's family was her pride and joy. She loved to cook and bake, with pies being her specialty. Her many hobbies included gardening, canning, crocheting, doing all kinds of crafts, and going to garage sales.  Her doors were always open to anyone who entered through them. Holidays were her favorite, when her loved ones would gather, create memories, and play many games of sheepshead around her table.  You could be sure that you would never leave her home hungry. She was proud of her Polish heritage and carried on many traditions.

A devoted and faith-filled woman, she was a member of Assumption B.V.M Parish in Pulaski. For her years of dedication to the Council of Catholic Women, Lucille was honored as Mother of the Year in 1984.  During her lifetime she worked at the Canning Factory, Pickle Rite, and as a cook for the Pulaski Community Schools until her retirement in 1990.

Lucille is survived by her seven children: Jim (Rosie) Stachura, Wally (Rosie) Stachura, Pattie (Jim) Mroczkowski, Tom Stachura, Donna (Bob) Golik, Marcia Stachura, and Mike (Kathy) Stachura. She is further survived by 23 grandchildren; 60 great grandchildren; eight great great grandchildren (with two more on the way); fur friend, Hey; and many other relatives and friends, all of whom have such fond memories of her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Leo and Sophie; husband, Walter; grandchildren: Jimmy Regis Stachura, Tab Rogers, Cassandra Stachura; daughters in law: Pat Stachura, Angela Stachura, and Deb Stachura; siblings and their spouses: Rose (Pete) Beyer, Stella (Ed) Sokolowski, Helen (Frank) Kurzawa, Regina (Joe) Wasielewski, Bernice (Ed) Baranowski, Ernest (Irene) Kaczmarowski, Clara (Leo) Trojan, Antoinette (Norb) Wesolowski, Bernadine (Clarence Lasecki) (Phil) Sobieski, infant sister, Pearl Kaczmarowski, and Walter's siblings.

Friends are invited to gather at Assumption B.V.M. Church, 119 E. Pulaski St., Pulaski, on Monday, July 31, from 4-7 p.m. with a parish wake service at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue on Tuesday at the church from 9-11 a.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. with Fr. James Esser, O.F.M. presiding. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery.

The Funeral Mass will be livestreamed on the parish Facebook page, https://www.facebook.com/Assumption-BVM-St-Stanislaus-St-Casimir-Parish-Family-89119956934

The family respectfully asks that no flowers be sent.
