Madeline "Maddi" Lu Rottier slipped quietly into peaceful rest on Sunday, October 27, 2024. Maddi was born on July 20, 2005. Shortly after birth, she was diagnosed with bilateral schizencephaly and began a life filled with doctors and medical challenges.

Even with all of her trials, Maddi had the biggest, warmest smile for everyone she met. She attended Syble Hopp School for several years after which her grandma Mary and papa Don (Terrien) cared for her each and every day.

Along with Mary and Don, Maddi is survived by Holly (Jim) Prast, Cameron and Laurene Rottier, Lucy Terrien, Natalie and Gabby Rein, Olivia (Graham) Geist, Jan and Ryan (Robyn) Rottier; as well as many great aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Maddi was preceded in death by grandfather, Ray Rottier; and great-grandparents, Roger and Lucille Zimmer and Jerry and Eleanor Terrien.

Visitation will be held at Mary and Don's home on Saturday, November 2, from 3-5 p.m. with a Celebration of Life ceremony at 5:00 p.m. Please RSVP to [email protected] for details if you wish to attend.

The family would like to thank all the medical professionals at St. Vincent ICU, Bellin, UW Health Children's Hospital, and the entire staff at Country Kids/Exceptional Equestrians for all they have done to support Maddi throughout the years. They also express their deepest gratitude to all of those who helped provide her therapy and care throughout her years.

In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made to Country Kids (1142 Orlando Dr., De Pere, WI 54115) to help them fulfill their mission of providing equine therapy for other children like Maddi.
