Obituary

Marlene Kay Rucinski, 84, Green Bay, left this life on Sunday, October 26, 2025. The daughter of Fredrick and Blanche (Golemgeske) Bartz was born on August 8, 1941, at Waukesha Memorial Hospital, Waukesha.

In 1961, Marlene married Dennis Michael Rucinski in Waukesha. The couple moved to Green Bay in 1969. Marlene worked as an R.N. at Waukesha Memorial Hospital, O.B.GYN Clinic, Waukesha, West Side Clinic and St. Mary's Hospital in Green Bay until her retirement.

Marlene cherished the time spent with family, extended family of relatives, friends and co-workers. They know they were valued by her, because she often told them. All chronicled in her lifetime collages of most memorable moments, people and events, crafted in a variety of ways.

Marlene is survived by two sons: Dean (Jan) Rucinski, Virginia Beach, VA, Lee (Liz) Rucinski, Green Bay; grandchildren: Michael (Angel) Rucinski and family, Matthew (Elizabeth) Rucinski and family, Jeromey Rucinski and family, Dennis (Mariah) Rucinski and family, April Vanderheyden, Ashley (Jeff) Kempton; foster daughters: Dawn Knowlton and family, Green Bay, Wendy Allar and family, Wisconsin Rapids, and Dana Beardsley and family, Schmiedeberg, Germany; godchildren: Danny, Wendy, and Bonnie. She is further survived by her sisters-in-law: Diane Rucinski and family, and Shelby Hemauer both of Waukesha; cousins, nieces and nephews: Dietze families, Milwaukee and Texas; Katzner families Waukesha; Miller families, Waukesha; Ferguson families, California; and Praeger families, Pewaukee; her soul sisters: Diane R., Susan M., and Jacquie H; and her Green Bay special friends: Nancy S., Alberta S., Millie M., Pat F., Donna S., Judy P., Donna S., Dee S., Joy G. and Karla R.

In addition to her parents Fredrick and Blanche, she was preceded in death by her husband of 29 years, Dennis in 1991; her social companion of 24 years until his passing in 2023, Richard Arcand; foster daughter, Kelly Garrity in 2023; and lifetime friends, Sr. Monica Mary DeQuardo and Micky M.

To all other neighbors, friends and co-workers that she shared life with, know you brightened her day, made her smile, and she loved you. She appreciated your support through the highs and lows. Accent the positive and eliminate the negative was what she lived.
