Obituary

Norbert J Reinhard Jr., 77, Town of Chase, passed away following a brief battle with cancer on August 28th, 2024. The son of Norbert Sr. and Almira (Borley) Reinhard, he was born May 5th, 1947 in Green Bay, WI.

Norbert was a graduate of Green Bay West High School, class of 1965. On July 31st, 1976 he married the love of his life Carol Broderick at Annunciation Parish in Green Bay, WI. He worked in the plumbing industry his entire career, from loading trucks and warehouse work as a young man, to sales and procurement, with extensive ties throughout the industry in Wisconsin.

He was a fan of anything that burned gasoline. Drag racing (cars and snowmobiles), motorcycles, even his zero-turn lawnmower, he loved his toys. His enthusiasm for stock car racing was infectious, everything from dirt tracks to NASCAR. If he wasn't watching a race event (likely because his better half was watching a rodeo), you'd find him tinkering with something in his shop.

A long time Packers fan, a 20 year old Norbert braved the cold at the Ice Bowl to cheer the team to victory. Years later he would share many (warmer) games with his sons.

Norbert was a man invested in his community and devout in his faith. Whether it was church council, serving at mass, or working at the picnic, he was always ready to serve. He also took great pride in his membership/work with the Knights of Columbus. He often appeared to be busier after he retired, given his work for the Town of Chase helping with everything from roadway maintenance to the Park Commission. The project that gave Norbert the most joy however, was the planning and construction of the Chase Stone Barn, a development that he advocated for tirelessly.

He is survived by his loving wife of over 48 years (+4 before it was official); two sons: Joe (Molly) Reinhard and David (Gina) Reinhard; two granddaughters: Charlotte and Lydia Reinhard; two sisters: Carol Ann Gagan and Joanne (Dennis) Hansen; one brother: Richie (Debbie) Reinhard; brothers/sisters-in-law: Gary Broderick, Ricky (Connie) Broderick, Peggy (Terry) Padgett, and Penny (Dave) Baker; as well as a whole host of nieces, nephews, and extended family/friends.

In addition to his parents, Norbert Sr. and Almira, he was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Robert Gagan.

Friends are invited to gather with family for visitation at St. Maximilian Kolbe Church, 6051 Noble St., Sobieski, WI on Friday September 6th from 9-11am. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11am with Fr. Francis Nusi presiding. Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Chase, WI.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to all the nurses, physicians, and staff at Bellin Health for the compassionate care they provided to Norbert.
