Ramona Arvilla Hanke, 85, Town of Lessor, passed away Tuesday, February 6, 2024, at a local nursing home. The daughter of Delos and Bernita (Borchardt) Roeder was born in Wausau on July 16, 1938.

Ramona grew up in Wausau and was a Wausau East High School graduate. On April 27, 1957, she married Carl Hanke in Wausau. He preceded her in death on April 4, 2006.

Ramona raised her four boys while working for Kraft Foods in Wausau for over 30 years. She was a longtime member of St. Steven's Church, Wausau, and enjoyed reading, gardening, and music. Ramona made friends with just about anybody she met.

Ramona is survived by a very special friend and significant other, Larry Wiese; four sons: Mark Hanke, Brian (Cindy) Hanke, Jeffrey (Tammy) Hanke, and Matthew Hanke (Brett Martens); eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Hanke.

Per Ramona's wishes no services will be held at this time. Burial will take place at a future date in St. Peter's Cemetery, Wausau.
