Obituary

Richard R. Schubring, 78, Marinette, died unexpectedly from injuries sustained in a house fire on January 23, 2024. The son of Ralph and Marjorie (DeDecker) Schubring was born June 13, 1945.

Richard grew up in the Pulaski area and graduated from Pulaski High School. Following high school, he began his working career as a Service Technician for Paper Converting in Green Bay and worked there until his retirement in 2005. After retirement, he moved north to his property in Silver Cliff where he was a member of the Silver Cliff volunteer fire department. As an avid boater, he loved exploring the norther reaches of Lakes Michigan and Huron, but had special place in his heart for Rock Island State Park.  Most of all, though, he loved spending time up north fishing with his grandchildren.

Richard is survived by his two children: Steve (Jackie) Schubring, Sobieski, and Debra Heyrman, Green Bay; his four grandchildren: Gabbey Tharp, Patrick, Chris, and Ben Schubring; three sisters: Jo Vannieuwenhoven, Janet (Jerry) O'Keefe, and Carol Pete.

In addition to his parents, Ralph and Marjorie, he was preceded in death by a brother, John Schubring; and a brother-in-law, David Vannieuwenhoven.

Friends are invited to gather for a Celebration of Richard's life at Marnocha Funeral Home, 186 E. Pulaski St., Pulaski, on Thursday, March 28, from 3-6 p.m.
