Obituary

Robert J. Bukowiec Sr., 71, Pulaski, passed away peacefully surrounded by his wife and children on Wednesday, September 6, 2023, at Aurora BayCare Medical Center, Green Bay. The son of Walter and Irene (Liss) Bukowiec was born, August 22, 1952, in Green Bay.

Bob "Buko" grew up in the Pulaski area and attended Pulaski High School. In 1973, he enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps serving in the reserves until his honorable discharge in 1980. On December 8, 1969, he married Marjorie Kadrlik.

Bob worked as a heavy equipment operator for several construction companies for over 40 years until his retirement in 2011. Bob loved the outdoors; he enjoyed gardening, hunting, fishing, mushroom picking and driving his tractor. He was an avid bird watcher and loved to tinker; he could fix anything.

Survivors include his loving wife, Marjorie; three children: Robert  Bukowiec Jr., Sara (Brian) Bollech, and Matthew (Heidi) Bukowiec; five grandchildren: Robert III "RJ", Juliette, Emma, Madilyn "Maddy", and Lily; a brother, Gerald (Bernice) Bukowiec; numerous brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and other family.

In addition to his parents, Walter and Irene, he was preceded in death by an infant son, Joseph Michael; and a brother, Ronald Bukowiec.

Friends are invited to gather with family at Marnocha Funeral Home, 186 E. Pulaski St., Pulaski, on Sunday, September 10, from 12 noon – 3 p.m. A parish wake service will take place at 2:30 p.m. Visitation will continue on Monday, at Assumption B.V.M. Church, 119 E. Pulaski St., Pulaski, from 9-11 a.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. with Fr. James Esser, O.F.M. presiding. Military honors rendered by the Pulaski Area Veterans will follow. Burial will be in Allouez Catholic Cemetery, Green Bay.

The family respectfully asks that no flowers be sent. They would also like to thank Dr. Scott Schinschke for all his care and concern given to Bob over the years.
