Obituary

Robert M. (Bob) Swain, age 76, of Suamico,  passed away February 13, 2024.  He was born March 23, 1947, in Fort Wayne, Indiana to the late Myron and Mary Nine.  Bob was a graduate of North Side High School in Fort Wayne before proudly serving in the United States Army from November 1964 to November 1970 in the Vietnam War.  After his honorable discharge, he returned home where he began his career as an electrician.

On October 9, 1976, he married the love of his life Susan (Wolfcale) Swain, with whom he spent the following 47 years with until his passing.  During his career he obtained his Master Electrician license and started his own electrical company in 1996, from which he retired in 2002.

Most of Bob's retirement years were spent enjoying time woodworking in his workshop, camping, watching "Ned the Dead", and above all, loving and spoiling his family.  Anyone that had the opportunity to get to know Bob knew that he was one of the most patient, generous, funny, and hard-working people you would ever meet.

He will be greatly missed by his wife, Sue; children: Scott (Shelly) Swain and Krista (Josh) Lewis as well as his grandchildren: Noah, Korynn, Jack, and Elly; in-laws, several nieces and nephews, many other family members and friends, as well as his furry bestie, Finn.  Nothing meant more to Bob than his loving family.

Bob's family would like to thank the medical staff at Bellin and Froedtert hospitals for the care they provided both Bob and his family, especially his Bellin nurse Allie, and his ICU nurse at Froedtert, Lauren, who stayed by his side through his final moments even though her shift had ended.

The family is holding a private ceremony to celebrate Bob's life.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests expressions of sympathy in the form of donations to the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund in Bob's name at: https://www.vvmf.org/tributes/robertswain/

Online condolences may be offered to the Swain family at [email protected] or on the Marnocha Funeral Home Facebook page.
