Robert H. Zernicke, 79, of Pulaski, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 27, 2025, at St. Mary's Hospital in Green Bay. The son of Howard and Phyllis (Specht) Zernicke was born in Shawano on December 21, 1945.
Bob grew up on the family farm in the town of Lessor and was a 1964 graduate of Bonduel High School. He married Wanda Doxtator at Calvary Lutheran church in 1977. Bob worked for Fort Howard Paper Company for 35 years. After his retirement from Fort Howard, he drove bus for Zernicke Bus in Pulaski for several years. Bob and Wanda were part-time custodians for 11 years at Calvary Lutheran Church in Green Bay, where he was a longtime member.
In his younger years, Bob enjoyed playing baseball, bowling, and deer hunting in Lessor with his stepson and brother-in-law. He loved playing cards with family and watching old westerns. Bob was a handyman and was always willing to lend a hand to anyone who needed it.
Survivors include his loving wife, Wanda; children: Scott Zernicke, Kim Smith, and Renee Howey; grandchildren: Caden, Colton, Alexis, Jacob, and Sydney; great-grandchildren: Carter and Raven; siblings: Bonnie (Darrell) Cornell, Howard (Diane) Zernicke, and Julie (Joe) Adamski. He is further survived by his godson, Joel Zernicke; nieces and nephews: Lori, Steve, Lynn, Jamie, and Skyler; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Sherry (Clyde), Bob (Jeanette), Faye, Karen (Brian), Cara Jean, Rosa, and Loreen; and many other nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
In addition to his parents, Howard and Phyllis, he was preceded in death by a son, Bob Decoteau and a niece, Julie Cornell.
Friends are invited to gather with family at Marnocha Funeral Home, 186 E. Pulaski St., Pulaski, on Friday, December 5, from 9-11 a.m. The funeral service will take place at 11 a.m. Burial will take place in Our Savior's Lutheran Cemetery, Lessor.
Bob's family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Froedtert Hospital. They would also like to thank the staff at Grancare as well as the staff at St. Mary's ER for the wonderful care and compassion given to him.
