Obituary

Roger Michael Rozmiarek, 98, Town of Maple Grove, passed away peacefully Friday evening, February 21, 2025, at Meadow Wood Assisted Living in Seymour. The son of Michael and Anna (Lasecki) Rozmiarek was born June 18, 1926, in Maple Grove.

On September 15, 1945, he married Helen Rose Bialozynski at Assumption B.V.M. Church in Pulaski. Shortly after they were married, the couple moved to the Town of Maple Grove, where they farmed until retirement. Roger also drove truck for Kuehne Livestock. After he retired from the farm, he drove school bus for Huettl Bus in Seymour.

Roger was a member of St. Stanislaus Parish in Hofa Park, where he had belonged to the Holy Name Society. He and Helen liked listening to polka programs, especially Molly B. In his younger days he and the guys in the Rose Lawn area would have boxing matches. These past several years he liked to watch the birds and squirrels out his patio door at Meadow Wood.

Survivors include his four children: Jeri (David) Henn, Mike (Judy) Rozmiarek, Karen (Jeff) Reed, and Mark (Lynn) Rozmiarek; 10 grandchildren: Julie (Brett) Temple, Janelle (Mike) Balthazor, Jo (Bryan) Krueger, Tim (Brenda) Rozmiarek, Jon (Jamie) Rozmiarek, Doug (Ashley) Rozmiarek, Kim Gryzlo, Kurt (Lisa) Reed, Mandy (Cliff) Williams, and Marc (Stephanie) Rozmiarek; 29 great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Alice Rozmiarek.

Roger was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Rose, on October 12, 2023; a daughter, Cindy Rozmiarek; his parents: Michael and Anna Rozmiarek; his in-laws: Valentine and Rose Bialozynski; four sisters and one brother: Genevieve (Andrew) Smith, Irene (Mike) Smith, Lorraine (Ed) Ratajczak, Marie (Ray) Ratajczak, and Arnie Rozmiarek; and Helen's siblings: Evelyn (Richard) Adamski, Terri Bialozynski, Frank (Elaine) Bialozynski, Genevieve (Marvin) Lubinski, and John (Liz) Bialozynski.

Friends are invited to gather with the family at St. Stanislaus Church in Hofa Park on Saturday, March 1 st , from 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, Fr. James Vacco, O.F.M. presiding. Burial will take place in the parish cemetery.
