Roman V. Przybylski, 91, Krakow, passed away peacefully Monday, October 16, 2023, at St. Vincent Hospital in Green Bay. The son of Michael and Mary (Skinkis) Przybylski was born October 8, 1932, in Pulaski.
Roman enlisted in the US Army on July 19, 1954; he served in England with the Army Corps of Engineers. He was honorably discharged on July 3, 1956. On June 6, 1959, Roman married Phyllis Strzelecki at Assumption B.V.M. Church in Pulaski.
Roman was a proud member of Wisconsin Operating Engineers Local 139, a trade in which he worked his entire career until his retirement. Roman was also a member of American Legion Post #337, a life member of PLAV Post #178, and a longtime member of St. Casimir Parish in Krakow.
Roman enjoyed woodworking, gardening, and maintaining his meticulous lawn. He could fix anything. He loved listening to polka music and dancing, playing harmonica, reading, and eating sweets, especially banana cream pie and mom's apple pie. He was also an avid bird watcher.
Roman is survived by his loving wife of over 64 years, Phyllis; children: Darlene Sullentrup, Gary (Diane) Przybylski, Nancy (Dale) Turriff, Dennis (LeeAnn) Przybylski, Kathy Przybylski (friend, Karen); his grandchildren: Lindsay (Austin) Henn, Taylor Przybylski (fiancé, Riley), Rachel Turriff (Cole Durdan), Spencer (Ashlee) Turriff, Jami Turriff, Eric (Felicia) Przybylski, and Amanda Przybylski (friend, Cory), and Brent Nowak ; great-grandchildren: Maci, Kinslee, Beckett, Gracelynn, Isiah, Aiden, and Miles; two brothers: Emil (Arlene) Przybylski and Alvin (Sandy) Przybylski; brothers-in-law: Bob Grygiel and Eugene (Jolene) Strzelecki. He is further survived by several nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
In addition to his parents, Michael and Mary, he was preceded in death by two sisters: Regina (Leonard) Lasecki and Phyllis Grygiel; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Theodore and Madeline Strzelecki; brothers-in-law: Florian (Evelyn) Strzelecki and Edward (Janice) Strzelecki; and a sister-in-law, Elaine Bins.
Friends are invited to gather with family at St. Casimir Church, 146 Park St., Krakow, on Saturday, October 21, from 9-11 a.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. with Fr. James Esser, O.F.M. presiding. Military honors rendered by the Pulaski Area Veterans will follow. Interment will take place in the parish cemetery.
The family would like to thank NEW Paramedic Rescue, and the ER staff at St. Vincent's Hospital. They would also like to thank their neighbor and friend, Tom and his dog, Molly, for always being there for Roman.
