Obituary

Rose Marie (Holewinski) Mastey, 91, of Pulaski passed away at St. Mary's Hospital on Saturday, May 23, 2026. She was born on March 30, 1935, daughter of John and Lucille (Januchowski) Holewinski.

She was a graduate of Pulaski High School. Rose Marie met the love of her life at a dance in Krakow and married Leonard Mastey on July 24, 1954. Together, they farmed in the Town of Maple Grove, where she was also a devoted homemaker who lovingly cared for her family and home.

She was a faithful member of Assumption B.V.M. Parish in Pulaski and belonged to the Christian Mothers Society. While her children were growing up, she was actively involved with Assumption BVM School. Rose Marie was a woman of deep faith who always placed her family at the center of her life.

Rose Marie is survived by her six children: Ruth (Gordy) Clark and their children, Aaron Clark (Angela Surprise), Ben (Katie) Clark and Justin (Liz) Clark; Debra (James) Ullmer and their children, Nathan (Renee) Ullmer, Jessica ( Adam) Gwidt, Stacy (Sam) Thomas and Andrea (Josh) Ragen; Mary Lou (Dennis) Schroeder and their children, Kim (Brent) Gruetzmacher, Eric (Teralyn) Schroeder, and Alissa (Jerry) Schuchardt; Paula Wojcik ( Craig Salscheider) and her children, Brittany (Josh) Hanstedt, Breanna (Tony) Engebos and Tanner (Steph) Wojcik; Michael (Peg) Mastey and their children Ashley (Gary) Karcz and Becca (Paul) Allen; Anne (Rob) Egnarski and their children, Bryce (Kendra) Egnarski, McKenna (Brock) Moldenhauer, and Cayden Egnarski (Chelsey Gilson). She is further survived by 27 great grandchildren, six step great-grandchildren and three step great- great- grandchildren; one sister, Diane (Robert) Paulick and three brothers: Donald Holewinski, Ken (Diane) Holewinski and Gary (Connie) Holewinski; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

In addition to her husband, Leonard, and her parents John and Lucille Holewinski, she was preceded in death by a sister and brother-in-law, Rita and Leon Smith, a sister-in-law, Carol Holewinski, a niece/god-daughter Michelle Smith and a nephew Doug Holewinski.

Friends are invited to gather with family at Assumption B.V.M. Church, 119 E. Pulaski St., Pulaski, on Thursday, May 28, from 10-11:30 a.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. with Fr. William Rooney, O.F.M. presiding. Interment will take place in the parish cemetery.

We would also like to thank everyone at Country Villa Assisted Living in Pulaski in helping guide us through Mom's journey. Thank you to Dr. Gyamfi of St. Mary's and the 5th floor nursing staff as well as the Unity Hospice Team for the exceptional care given to Mom in her final days.
