Rose A. Wirtz, 77, Krakow, died Tuesday, December 24, 2024 from injuries sustained from an automobile accident. The daughter of Raymond and Florence (Maternoski) Drella was born on October 13, 1947, in Green Bay.
Rose was a lifelong resident of Krakow and graduated from Pulaski High School. On August 22, 1970, she married Roger Wirtz at St. Casimir Church in Krakow. Rose was a school bus driver for the Pulaski School District for several years. She then serviced vending machines for Konop Vending before spending the rest of her career in assembly at MCL Industries in Pulaski.
Rose enjoyed watching football on TV, especially the Green Bay Packers. She also enjoyed gardening and loved to read a good book. Most of all, she loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Survivors include her loving husband, Roger Wirtz, Krakow; three children: Amy Wirtz, Green Bay, Curt (Traci) Wirtz, Krakow, and Kristen (Mike) Gifford, Florence, SC; three grandchildren: Brennan and Easton Gifford, and Jackson Wirtz; sisters: Audrey (Gordon) Aprill, Morgan, Virge Luepke, Marinette, Terry Denissen, Green Valley, and Ruth (Brian) Hoppe, Iola; brother-in-law and sisters-in-law: Carol Drella, Sandy Price, Eugene (Nancy) Wirtz, David (Gail) Wirtz, Fran Stewart, Laurie (Greg) Leanna, Kathy (Bob) Christiansen, Chuck (Lisa) Wirtz, and Mardell Wirtz; and many nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents, Raymond and Florence Drella, she was preceded in death by her brother, David Drella; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Floyd and Eleanor Wirtz; and brothers-in-law: Jerry Denissen, Bob Price, and Jim Wirtz.
Friends are invited to gather with family at St. Casimir Church, 146 Park St., Krakow, on Saturday, December 28, from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 12 noon with Fr. James Esser, OFM presiding and Fr. Carmen Scuderi, OFM concelebrating. Burial will take place at a later time in the parish cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, any donations will be given to St. Casimir Parish.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the doctors and nurses at St. Vincent ICU.
