Obituary

Sylvia C. Adamski, 87, Hofa Park, passed away peacefully on November 6, 2024, surrounded by her family. The daughter of Frank and Bernice (Bishop) Wisniewski was born at home in the Town of Lessor on March 7, 1937.

Sylvia grew up in the Seymour area and graduated from Seymour High School with the Class of 1955. On September 7, 1957, she married Eugene Adamski at St. Sebastian Church in Isaar.

Sylvia was a stay-at-home mom when her children were young. Once all of them were in school she worked in laundry at San Luis Nursing Home in Green Bay and Good Shepherd Nursing Home in Seymour. She ran the Hofa Park Recreational Hall for many years as well.

Sylvia enjoyed baking, canning, gardening, and taking an occasional trip to the casino. She also enjoyed reading a good romance book and watching nature at the family cabin in Lakewood. Sylvia loved to spend time with her family; she always made sure to give them something good to eat.

Survivors include eight children: John (Patti) Adamski, Anita (Dave) Demske, Nancy Adamski, Joe (Julie) Adamski, Linda (Jeff) VandenLangenberg, Robert Adamski, Frank (Mandy) Adamski, and Helen (Dave) Jashinsky; her grandchildren: Amanda Adamski, Alex Adamski, Cody (Kheenan) Halvorson, Cayla Demske (Michael), Corine (Nic) Hassemer, Nick Compton, Natalie Compton, Jamie Adamski, Skyler (Morgan) Adamski, Josh (Amanda) VandenLangenberg, Adam (Lisa) VandenLangenberg, Tim (Lauren) VandenLangenberg, Kevin (Cassie) VandenLangenberg, Collin Breitenbach, Madison Jashinsky, Payton Jashinsky (special friend, Seth), and Brady Jashinsky. She is further survived by 13 great-grandchildren; a sister, Ruth (Dick) Bickel; a son-in-law, Craig Compton; sister-in-law, Lola Wisniewski; close friend and cousin, Helen Tucholski; and many nieces, nephews, and other family members.

In addition to her husband, Eugene, and her parents, Sylvia was preceded in death by a daughter, Joan Compton; sisters: Joyce (Lee) Thyes and Gladys (Arnie) Breyer, and brother,  John (Jackie) Wisniewski.

Friends are invited to gather with family at St. Stanislaus Church, W1888 Hofa Park Rd., Seymour, on Saturday, December 7, from 9 a.m. until 12 noon. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 12 noon with Fr. James Esser, O.F.M. presiding. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery.

The family would like to thank NEW Rescue and the entire 6 th floor ICU staff at St. Vincent Hospital.
