Obituary

Ted Conant, 67, of Green Bay and formerly of Marinette,  peacefully passed away on October 24, 2025, following a period of declining health. He was born on September 16, 1958, in Menominee, Michigan, to Donald James Conant and Arlene Marion Johnson.

In November 1975, Ted married Barbara Fruit, and together they had two children, Jeremy and Katie. Following their divorce, he spent much of his young adult life in the Green Bay area, making a living as a semi-truck driver. In 1994, he moved to Marinette with Cheryl Burmeister, where they bought a fixer-upper home that Ted poured his craftsmanship into. Ted and Cherie married on September 13, 1997, and together they built both a home and a business. In 1999, Ted founded Conant Studio, a professional photography studio that carried on the family tradition of photography. Ted and Cherie were a true team—he behind the camera and she beside him, helping with posing, lighting, and keeping every session full of laughter and ease. Over the years, they captured countless weddings, senior portraits, and family memories for the community.

Ted found joy in simple pleasures: fishing, deer hunting, gardening, and photography. A talented guitar player, he cherished memories spent around a bonfire singing with family and friends. His favorite songs were those that always reflected his own soulful and easygoing spirit.

Ted will be remembered most for his sense of humor, a resilient faith in Christ, and generous heart. He had a gift for finding laughter in any situation and a deep compassion that came straight from his mother. He greeted everyone with a warm hello and gave away his love freely. He opened his home and heart to friends, family, and even strangers—offering a place to find their footing, rebuild their lives, or simply feel cared for. If it was his to have, it was his to give.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Cheryl; his parents, Don and Arlene Conant; and his siblings: Scott Conant, Janey Conant, and Paul Cooper.

He is survived by his children, Jeremy Conant and Katie (Dustin) Lowery; his grandchildren, Maggie, Isabella, Annie, and Sam; his siblings, Kim (Marie), Patty (Mark), Joany (Allan), and Ruthy; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends.

Per Ted's wishes, no funeral or visitation will be held. The family invites you to share your favorite memories of Ted here—your stories are a precious gift. To honor his life, please do something kind or generous for someone, simply for the joy of giving.
